YES was commissioned to carry out a ground gas risk assessment in order to provide appropriate mitigation measures for the proposed development.

YES carried out desk based research to determine the precise ground conditions, which also included many mining features present, which would facilitate gas migration beneath the site.

Gas monitoring boreholes were installed at the site and gas monitoring carried out over a 10 month period. YES produced a gas risk assessment in accordance with CIRIA guidance which detailed the necessary precautionary measures within the proposed foundations of the new buildings.
