Mining and Geotechnical Investigations

Mining Investigations

A mining Investigation typically involves trenching using a JCB or tracked excavator to search for any mining features present on the site. Drilling for mining features can also be carried out. If a Phase 2 Site Investigation is also required, it is sensible to carry out both types of investigation at the same time. YES Ltd has abundant experience working with experience mining consultants to both identify and stabilise any mining-related issues that a site may face.

Geotechnical Investigations

Geotechnical investigations aim to achieve a broad understanding of the ground conditions. Understanding the ground conditions underneath a site that is intended for development is very important. Methods typically include bulk soil sampling for laboratory testing, in-situ tests such as CBR testing for road and pavement design and SPTs for foundation/pile design. YES can provide a cost-effective foundation solution for the ground conditions present.
